Introduction
For over a decade, Taiwan's traditional foundry industry has been facing a severe shortage of on-site technicians and R&D engineers. To address this worsening situation, it is essential to integrate vocational high schools, technical colleges, and industry players to jointly design courses and programs tailored to practical needs and improvement goals. This will cultivate the necessary human resources for businesses, achieving sustainable operation and technology transfer. Based on the needs of foundry industry players in central Taiwan, our department plans to collaborate with these players and affiliated vocational high schools (Huwei Agricultural and Industrial Vocational High School, Changhua Teachers' College Affiliated Industrial High School, Tainan Industrial High School, and Xiushui Industrial High School) to jointly apply for this program. It is anticipated that approximately 80 vocational high school mechanical engineering students will be offered to foundry companies, who will then be able to continue their studies at the Future College of Yunlin University of Science and Technology, thus achieving the goal of integrated vocational and technical education.

Objectives
In line with the Ministry of Education's industry-academia collaboration program, our school hopes to contribute substantially to Taiwan's foundry industry through the implementation of this program. The ultimate goal of this program is to cultivate mechatronics engineers, quality control engineers, and design and development engineers—three types of talent currently most in demand in the foundry industry. We hope that through three years of vocational high school plus four years of technical college training and internship experience, we can help companies establish a solid foundation of manufacturing technical personnel and achieve the goal of enhancing international competitiveness.
